Q:  Will a Safe-to-Touch print coating cause any damage to my printing press?
A:  No these are standard coating products that include the Bioseal antimicrobial ingredient. This ingredient contains no abrasives and represents a very small percentage of the overall coating volume.

Q:  Will a Safe-to-Touch print coating dry more slowly than a standard coating?
A:  No the Bioseal ingredient has no adverse impact upon drying times

Q:  Do Safe-to-Touch print coatings have the same Slip, or Rub characteristics of standard coating products?
A:  Yes they do, there is no adverse affect on either Slip, or Rub performance 

Q:  Do Safe-to-Touch print coatings look any different to standard coatings once they have dried?
A:  No the core characteristcs (Silk, Matt, Gloss) of each coating type are totally unaffected by the Bioseal ingredient.

Q:  Are there any health risks to my press minders of using Safe-to-Touch print coating on a regular basis?
A:  TBC

Q:  Do I need to use different coating weights when using Safe-to-Touch print coating?
A:  No, simply treat as a standard coating product. For water based coatings we recommend a coverage of between 3-8 gsm. 

Q:  How can I demonstrate to my customer that I have used a Safe-to-Touch print coating?
A:  Your coating supplier should be able to independently verify the use of the coating using a 3M manufactured test kit - please see the video on this website.

Safe-to-Touch print coatings have been designed to match standard print coating products with no adverse impacts upon run ability, or the final printed result. In respect to water based coatings you should always stir the product before use, as you would with a standard emulsion coating.
